CASAblanca Starts in

Our annual CASAblanca gala is a remarkable night that makes a big difference in the lives of children in Douglas County who have experienced abuse or neglect. Inspired by the glamour and intrigue of the 1940s, past events have been unforgettable evenings of music, casino games, food & drink, 1940s costume contests, and best silent and live auction items in our community.

This year we are hosting CASAblanca @ home in order to celebrate all that we have accomplished together in the safest way possible. If we aren't able to gather together at Maceli's as originally planned, we can instead pick up one of their amazing meals, dress up in our CASAblanca best (if desired) and tune in to our live stream video at 7:00pm on Saturday, September 26th.

Each ticket includes a three course meal with a choice of beef, chicken, seafood or vegetarian entrée. "CASAbling!" wine/raffle tickets are available for a chance to win a diamond necklace valued at $2,250 and our online auction will be open for bidding ahead of the event as well. It promises to be a great occasion to come together, share a virtual meal and appreciate who we are as a community when we work as one to change the lives of our most vulnerable children.

We are fortunate to have our fantastic emcees - Kansas Public Radio's very own J. Schafer and University of Kansas "Voice of the Jayhawks" Brian Hanni - back again this year and are particularly excited to share some of the moving stories from our volunteers about what your support has allowed them to do with local kids in foster care.

On Saturday, September 26th:

Pick up your meal(s) from Maceli's in Lawrence (we will notify ticket holders with their pick-up window)

Dress up in your CASAblanca best or feel free to keep it casual - regardless, we'd love to "see" you all! Please tag Douglas County CASA on social media and use #DgCoCASAblanca2020 so that we can find your posts

Tune in to our video presentation at 7:00pm - it will be streaming on our YouTube channel and will include:

  • Welcome and updates from our amazing & loyal emcees!
  • Updates about Douglas County CASA and our vision for the future
  • Volunteer Stories
  • Music
  • Letters from children served by CASA volunteers

Bid on the great online auction items that we will have available (we will notify ticket holders as soon as bidding opens in advance of September 26th)

Celebrate another inspiring year of meeting the range of challenges that 2020 has given us and continuing to speak up for the kids we serve as they wait for safe and permanent homes

Thank you for your support!
