Special Funds and Scholarships
We have a variety of special funds established to provide items and services to our CASA kids and other at-risk youth in Douglas County. Established in 2011, the Shepherd Shoe Fund, honors retired judge, and Douglas County CASA founder, Hon. Jean Shepherd. This fund provides youth the footwear they need for daily activities and to participate in extacurricular activities including dance, sports, marching band, prom, and more. The Clothing Fund provides essential clothing items for CASA children with limited access to basic necessities. The Summer Scholarship Activity Fund provides opportunities for CASA children and other at-risk youth to attend summer camps and activities.
